Zoran First Editing Lesson with Avid Media 06/10/2014

In the first lesson of using Avid Media we went through the basics of setting up a profile, using the Bins and how to cut down clips to shorten the video. These are the steps I took:

Step 1: Open Avid Media-

Step 2: Create a folder in the local disk which stores the videos files-

Step 3: Make a Profile-

Step 4: Create a project using 24p settings-

Step 5: Open up the location with the audio and the video is and copy and paste both audio and video folders to the folder you just created-

Step 6: Set up three different bins, one for video, one for audio and one for edits-

Step 8: Import the Video and Audio files into the correct bins-

Step 7: Choose a video, and press L to play, J to pause and J to rewind. If you press J and L more than once the video will speed up
Step 8: When you get to a clip you want to keep press I to mark in and O to mark out-

Step 9: Press V or B on the keyboard to edit the clip onto your finished timeline-

Step 10: Add the audio file and repeat steps 8 to mark in and out the sections you want-

Step 11- This time before you press V or B you will need to deselect the video track-
